In My Mailbox (94)

Sunday, August 29, 2010
Welcome to In My Mailbox! You can find out how to participate and the "official" details on the IMM page.

IMM is a meme I started here at The Story Siren with some inspiration from Alea of Pop Culture Junkie.

The idea behind IMM was not only to put new books on your radar but to also encourage blogger interaction. IMM explores the weekly contents of my mailbox & books bought. And sometimes other fun goodies.

Anyone can participate in IMM and you are not limited to only sharing books that arrive via your mailbox. You can also share books that you've bought or books that you've gotten at the library.

I really wanted to do a video blog this week, but I just didn't have the time today.... so I snapped a few pictures instead.

So, today is J's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Not that he even reads my blog.... lol. BUT we went out to celebrate last night and after dinner we had a little time to kill before the baseball game, so he took me to a local indie that is closing in Fort Wayne. I went a little crazy buying books.... I probably would have bought more if J hadn't been there! But I felt sort of bad, it being his birthday and me acting like the kid in the candy store... I think I might have to go back on my day off this week! Anyway, here's what i got:

Siren by Tricia Rayburn
Guardian of the Gate by Michelle Zink
Ash by Malinda Lo
Guardian of the Dead by Karen Healey
The Tension of Opposites by Kristina McBride
Claire de Lune by Christine Johnson

Basically IMM is a meme I started here at The Story Siren with some inspiration from Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. What is a meme you ask? A meme (pronounced meem or to rhyme with theme) is like the plague. It's purpose is to spread.... like a disease, hence the plague reference. Memes can be those stupid quizzes that you see on facebook.. "what type of latte are you?" You know what I'm talking about right? For bloggers especially book bloggers memes have evolved into something a little more personal that we can share with each other.

The idea behind IMM was not only to put new books on your radar but to also encourage blogger interaction.
