Sweet is book two in the True Believers series. This one is about Jessica and Riley. You might remember them from the first novel True. I have to admit that I wasn’t a big fan of Jessica in True and I’m still not a huge fan, but Riley more than made up for that.
I loved the story and the relationship dynamic between Jessica and Riley. I did like that we found out more about Jessica, we get a in depth look at her history and her life with her parents. They are really strict, and have her future basically planned for her. I don’t know what this says about me, but I didn’t really feel all that sorry for her. Although, my feelings for her did start to change by the end of the novel and I actually started to like her. I could see her character growth once she confronts certain issues and she gained my respect.
Riley is Tyler’s older brother and the oldest of the four boys, so he shoulders most of the responsibility. I think he is the reason that I started giving Jessica a chance. I have to say that Riley surprised me. From his appearances in True I expected him to be a bit of an ass, but he was actually a good guy, still a smart ass, but definitely a good guy. Who knew he had all that vulnerability inside! I think that made him hotter!
I really enjoyed reading Sweet, but True is still my favorite of the two. Fun, quick, and hot reads! I’m really looking forward to continuing with book three!
