I’m a huge fan of Simone, just love her books, so I was thrilled when I found out that she was writing a new series! Wild Cards is about a group of Football players! Finally I can feed my Friday Night Lights addiction with a book series!

One thing I love about Simone Elkeles is her dual narratives! Wild Cards is told in the POV of Ashtyn and Derek. Ashtyn is the kicker for the football team, she’s a tomboy, she’s beautiful and she’s dating the star quarterback! Derek is a “bad” boy. Kicked out from his private, he finds out his stepmom is pregnant and they are all moving back to her hometown. Did I mention his stepmom is Ashtyn’s sister.

These two love to hate each other and deep down that might actually like each other. The romance is sizzling with these two, if only they would stop denying it! I do have to admit I enjoyed the angst! It made the story go by quickly for me because I couldn’t stop turning the pages to find out what was going to, if anything, happen between these to. Simone is so good at that too!

I also loved the relationship between all the football teammates and Ashtyn. So looking forward to reading more about these guys.

Wild Cards is a fast paced read, perfect for a fall afternoon curled up on the couch with a cup of coffee or your preferred hot beverage.
