One word, people. DRAGONS!
I’ve always enjoyed dragons in literature and even more so with Game of Thrones going all bad-ass dragon, so this book was right up my alley. Especially because it wasn’t a slay the dragon kind of book… well not really. I mean there are people in this book trying to slay the dragons because they might destroy the world. It was all a big misunderstanding anyway.
In addition to dragons there is also:
1. time travel- um awesome
2. a love triangle- which I know can turn some people off, but I’m a big fan
4. did I mention dragons?
I think the thing I liked the most about this novel was the story itself. Trinity is exposed to this future where the world is basically desolate from these dragons, yet there is the flip side where the dragons could possibly save the world. It’s a constant battle for Trinity through the entire novel and for the reader as well. There isn’t a clear right or wrong, dragon or Conner/Caleb wise!
I was a bit disconnected from the characters, there was just something missing for me. But at the same time I was interested enough in the story that I hope I connect with the characters later on in future books.
Overall, I liked this one and can’t wait to see what happens next!
