It’s over. I am so sad. The last of the trilogy! But it was oh so frexing good! This was my favorite of the series. Just wow. So many secrets and betrayals, I don’t think I ever knew what was going to happen next. After the first book I had a hard time envisioning how Revis would keep the series going for two more books, but what she did was brilliant!
Since this is the last of a series, I don’t want to go into the plot to much. I’ll just refer you to my review of book one: Across the Universe. So now you know a little bit about the books, they are sci-fi, but you don’t need to be a sci-fi fan to enjoy these books. I don’t consider myself a sci-fi fan and I LOVE them.
The world building in these books is out of this world! (Ha!) Seriously though, Revis does this excellent job of creating Godspeed and the atmosphere. It seems like this could totally be real, and it’s sort of scary.
Amy and Elder. Love them. They are such memorable characters, and they compliment each other so well. I’m not sure I would have enjoyed this series as much had I not gotten that dual perspective. It really gives the reader a one of a kind reading experience.
And thank you Beth Revis for killing people. Yes, I said it, the authors KILLS people. I she doesn’t actually kill people, but she sure enjoys writing about killing her characters. It’s not a spoiler, she does it the WHOLE time. I hated her for it, and I loved her for it too.
This series has everything I expected and then a whole lot more on top of that. I’m so glad that I took the chance and read these books even though it’s not usual choice. I hope you will take the chance too!
I am disappointed about the cover change, because this one is not going to match my other covers! UGH! But I totally understand why the changed happened. The new covers will definitely appeal to a new audience and if that means more people discovering the awesomeness of this series, I’m all for it!

I so can’t wait to get my hands on Shades of Earth. I really don’t know what to expect… but you said deaths, AND I LOVE WHEN AUTHORS KILL KILL KILL! I really do. Makes it that much more real and believable.

So agree with you Kristi. This is my favorite book in the series and one of the best ends to a trilogy. Thanks for the great review.

I wish they hadn’t changed the covers either. I was a HUGE fan of the first cover; I thought it was so beautiful, with the galaxies and nebulae in the background.

I actually really like the new cover. I’m not sure what it is about it but it’s so striking, it really jumps out at me.
Also, I agree on killing characters! One of the reasons why I love Joe Abercrombie.
