City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
*READ AT YOUR OWN RISK, I TRIED TO KEEP IT SPOILER FREE, BUT FAILED SO THERE MAY BE SPOILERS*
This Tuesday I got City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare. I L-O-V-E-D loved this book!! It left off where City of Fallen Angels ended when Sebastian bind Jace to him. Clary wants to help rescue Jace, but the Clave doesn’t want to find Jace, they want to find Sebastian. They want to kill him when they do find him. So Clary takes matters into her own hands and tells Jace she wants to come with him. When Jace and Clary get there, Jace is all buddy-buddy with Sebastian and Clary knows that it’s the possessed Jace and not the real one because the real Jace wouldn’t act like that. The farther you get in the book the more secrets Clary uncovers. She learns Sebastian’s plan and what he plans on doing after that. Then, while Clary is with Jace and Sebastian; Simon, Isabelle, Alec, and Magnus are trying to come up with a plan to break the bond between Sebastian and Jace. Once Simon, Isabelle, Alec, and Magnus find a way to unbind them, they go out to find Clary. When they get there Sebastian has created a whole army of dark shadow hunters. So they have to fight them off. *Skipping very important things that happen* By the end, a new war is coming and Clary, Jace, Simon, Isabelle, Alec, Magnus, Luke, the Pack, and Jocelyn will have no other choice but to fight.
I loved this book. Some of the things I liked were how Clary went to Sebastian to save Jace. Simon called her reckless, but she was really just trying to save someone she loved. I also liked that, just like the other books of Cassandra Clare’s, it went from different point of views from different character. I liked how we saw things out of the eyes of Maia and Jordan, and Simon, Isabelle, Alec, Luke, mostly everyone.
Some things I didn’t like were how, like almost all the YA books I’ve read so far this month, the girl is always doing dangerous, stupid things. In Insurgent, Tris sacrifices herself to Erudite because she doesn’t want to “hurt” Tobias anymore, even though she hurt him when she ran away to Erudite. In City of Lost Souls, Clary goes to save Jace. I actually liked how she brave enough to do this, but why is the girl always sacrificing herself? I don’t get it. ☺ Clary is actually running away to be with Jace, but Tris was running away from Tobias. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t get it. ☺
Over all, I LOVED this book sososososososososo much!!! 5 out of 5 stars!!!

Great review! I enjoyed this one a good bit, but I’m kind of at the “omg will this series ever end?” stage.

Great review! This book had me so conflicted . . . but it was such a great read compared to City of Fallen Angels which I wasn’t a fan of. But pretty much ANYTHING written by Clare will be fantastic . . . dying for the last bookk in this series.

I have read this book and trust me it took a while to digest! But once i got inside the actual plot, I started enjoying it, it had adventure, suspense, violence, drama… everything! This book shows how dark someone’s soul can be and how they can easily twist something evil into seeming to be the right thing.
I even loved the cover of the book , I think Jace & Clary look so real in the cover!

I really need to catch up on this series! I’ve read the first 3 a few times, AND listened to the audiobooks. I have the 4th book in physical format AND on audiobook and just bought this one … I can’t wait to finally start reading it — especially since you make it sound so good.

Now, I’m starting to feel bad. I have the whole series just waiting to be read on my Kobo, and I’ve been ignoring it and clearly missing out! I love series but I also hate them, because you have to wait! And I just get absorbed into them, all of sudden I’m spending 3 or 4 hours a day reading the book because I just HAVE to see what happens!

I haven’t read this yet so I had to skim through this review BUT I do hate TStL moments these action-y heroines have. I chalk it up to moments of insanity brought on by traumatic stress. I can’t wait to start this one! It’s so sad that it’s been sitting on my shelves for A MONTH NOW.
