Whew…. this book is so good! SO GOOD people! Now this is a second in a series, so I’m not going to get into much of the details of the story. Basically it’s a story about a girl and a boy and they are living on a humungous space ship. Oh, and the girl, Amy…. was FROZEN and she was woken up, er thawed out, before she was supposed to be. Thus mystery and intrigue happen, among a few other things. And that is book one. Then in book two, I thought for sure that Beth Revis wouldn’t be able to surprise me. I mean we learned so much in book one, how could there possibly be more to this story. That Beth Revis she is so sneaky and tricky! Whatever you think you “discovered” and “know” from book one, you don’t know anything! And that sort of made me LOVE this book.
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect from A Million Suns. I thought we figured everything out in book one and there wasn’t anything that could possibly happen in book two that I wouldn’t figure out or anticipate. Let me just say that there was PLENTY that I didn’t anticipate and even more that I didn’t figure out until it was staring at me in the face. And I absolutely LOVED that. I loved the complication and the dynamic of Amy and Elder’s relationship. I love that she questioned it, because I did too. The concerns that she felt were something that I did as well. There relationship was more out of convenience than anything else, or so I thought!
Elder’s character development in this novel is fabulous. It was hard to watch him take on this responsibility and struggle with his decisions and the decisions of those before him.
Collecting and solving clues with Amy was the most fun I’ve had with a book in what seemed like ages! The anticipation of it all! It was just killer! No pun intended.
If you like sci-fi with some mystery thrown in, and on top of that an intense plot… A Million Suns may be just the book for you. And after that ending, I can’t WAIT to see what happens next!

I can’t wait for this. It’s not out in the UK until April, so I’m waiting with bated breath! Across the Universe was definitely one of the best books I read in 2011.

I absolutely loved this book! It was even better than the first. It was incredible, suspenseful, and everything else that you talked about in this review. I just think this is such an amazing series and I can’t wait till the last book in the trilogy! I don’t usually use the word “epic,” but I definitely hope that is what that book will be like.
Great review, Kristi.

Thanks so much for finding me and making me feel good about my blog. Seriously made my day!
By the way…waiting for book three to be published is going to take F.O.R.E.V.E.R

I haven’t read any of Beth’s work yet, and I’m SO wanting to. I’ve heard she’s phenomenal. I have the first book and I think you’ve might have convinced me to bump it to the top of the stack.
