Meet Christina!
You might have seen a reference to my #1 fan on Twitter, and here is the story…
Several months ago I received my first ever FAN LETTER! I never expect to get a fan letter, so it was one of the coolest things. Ever. The letter happened to be from 11 year old (at the time) Christina. Since receiving Christina’s letter we’ve shared email correspondence, I’ve sent her some books and more recently we were able to hang out in real life! We (along with Christina’s mom, who just finished The Hunger Games trilogy!) actually got kicked out of the library so they could close! We didn’t actually get “kicked” out… but they had to come let us know there were closing because the time flew and we didn’t realize what time it was.
Christina is such a fabulous person! I am so excited to have you all meet her. She’ll be stopping by and doing reviews periodically too. I’m thinking of calling her reviews “Reviews from a REAL Teen!”
Christina loves to read and write! She told me all about the stories she writes (she has even won writing awards from the library!). We talked about our favorite television shows too! And of course we talked about books! I asked Christina a few questions that I’ll be sharing with you below! Please welcome this fellow reader!
Heyy. I’m Christina and I’m in 6th grade. I looooveee to read anything I guess, besides Non-fiction. I like to hang out with my friends when I’m not Reading!! We are always talking about tacos since I am the “Crazy Taco Momma!!” Yeah, I know. I’m obsessed with them though. So if anyone has read any books about Tacos, Let Me Know!!
Who are some of your favorite authors?
My favorite author(s) are veronica Roth, Tahereh Mafi, Rachel Caine, Cassandra Clare!!! ( —-for shizzle) and Sara Shepard
What types of books do you like to read?
I like mostly paranormal or supernatural. Are those the same?? :/
What is your current favorite book?
Too hard of a question. But if I have to decide it’s Shatter Me.
I LOOOOOVVVVEEE reading because it takes me to another universe where you’re not making the decisions. And you see how other people’s decisions either go bad or good and how they make everything better.
What is one author you’d love to meet and why?
Cassandra Clare!!! I want to meet her because her books are sooooooo amazing. I’ve always wanted to ask her how she came up with the idea of writing about Shadowhunters.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I’m not sure yet, but im positive I want to be either a Publisher, Author, Reviewer, or a Reader. ANYTHING TO DO WITH BOOKS!!!

Not surprised you have a fan because you’re so awesome and do some much for authors. Fabulous idea to have Christine do reviews.
Christine, welcome. So looking forward to your reviews. I LOVE books too. If you’re interested in doing an ASK THE EXPERT interview where I interview teens about what they like to read at my blog Literary Rambles, e-mail me.

Yay! Welcome Christina! I really appreciate reviews from actual teens–as someone who focuses on working with teens in a reading environment, it isn’t really the adult blogger opinions that matter, it’s the teen’s. I can’t wait to read some reviews!

Hi Christina! Love your taste in books. I love Taco’s too and in Scotland they are just too far from the border to know what one is!! Isn’t that crazy?! I really miss Taco Bell. More than I can say. I can’t wait for your reviews!
Kristi, I’m having a tween (11) and teen (14)start reviewing for me too! Well, really for them. I get to send them books and they are getting so excited about reading. That’s what it’s all about! Their first reviews are tomorrow. I like to hear about what they think about books. They aren’t tainted from the world yet!

There are some novels that remind you how seemingly normal things in life can be the most beautiful and sacred of things to someone that doesn’t know them. Shatter Me takes this idea of the simplicity of touch and weaves it into an additively passionate and eye-opening debut novel stuffed to the last page with gorgeous writing, ardent romance and danger. There are a handful of novels that leave me breathless and even fewer that make me want to be a better writer. Shatter Me cracked both of those categories effortlessly.
