Giveaway: The Book of Wonders by Jasmine Richards

Magic, Djinn, Ogres, and Sorcerers. Thirteen-year-old Zardi loves to hear stories about fantastical beings, long banned from the kingdom of Arribitha. But anyone caught whispering of their powers will feel the rage of the sultan—a terrifying usurper who, even with his eyes closed, can see all.
When her own beloved sister is captured by the evil ruler, Zardi knows that she must go to any lengths to rescue her. Along with her best friend, Ridhan—a silver-haired, violet-eyed boy of mysterious origins—and an unlikely crew of sailors led by the infamous Captain Sinbad, Zardi ventures forth into strange and wondrous territory with a seemingly impossible mission: to bring magic back to Arribitha and defeat the sultan once and for all.

Sounds like it could be interesting. From the synopsis, it sounds like it’s got a really classic fun fantasy feel to it, and there are days where I could really use that kind of story! You’ve definitely piqued my interest.

I understand “everyone” means “international”, isn’t it? If that’s so, THANK YOU! I usually read the blog and comment from time to time, but when a contest starts, it’s like: ouch! Just for US and Canada… I know international mail is expensive, so thank you very much for giving us the chance!

I love the stories of Sinbad, and I love re-tellings/re-imaginings of beloved folktale characters like that. I think Book of Wonders will certainly satisfy my need for action and magic. Gorgeous cover as well!

I’m so eager to get my hands on this book. I read (somewhere) that the idea spawned from the tales of Scheherazade. This is uber awesome to me because back in high school, when I was in marching band, we did a performance based on One Thousand and One Nights!
