That summer, Chelsea’s dad hires Clint, a nineteen-year-old ex-hockey player and “boot camp” trainer, to work with her at a northern Minnesota lake resort. As they grow close, Chelsea finds that Clint’s haunted by his own tragedy. Will their romance end up hurting them all over again—or finally heal their heartbreak?
I know bloggers have been taking some heat lately…Hearing some grumblings as to whether or not they do any real good for an author’s overall sales. I have to say that I’m one author who believes in bloggers 100%.
Let’s face it—bookstores are closing. My own hometown recently witnessed the closing of my favorite used bookstore, as well as the closing of the Borders Express in the mall—and our larger Borders store is also in the process of shutting its doors. My hometown is no stranger to losing brick-and-mortar stores. As a result, book blogs are absolutely replacing signings and stops at bookstores!
YOU—bloggers in the YA book blogging community—are the absolute best promotional tool I’ve come across. You’re incredible!
YA book blogs have been so instrumental in spreading the word of my work that I have been encouraging all my fellow authors to make even better use of the blogosphere. I’ve already written two articles for the SCBWI Bulletin on the YA blogosphere.
I’ve also been reaching out to bloggers as I promote PLAYING HURT…far more than I did when my debut, A BLUE SO DARK, was released (it was with the release of A BLUE SO DARK that I began to realize the good bloggers were doing to get my book in the hands of the right readership).
I adore the YA blogosphere, and only want to see it grow and thrive. The idea of where the YA blogosphere might be in five or ten years excites me to no end. You guys prove every day that reading is absolutely not dead—and you are the most influential force right now connecting new writers to their audiences.
On behalf of all the new authors such as myself that you have helped to find and grow a fan base, I say again, sincerely and with a heart filled with great affection, thank you.

What a great interview and even more wonderful post that the author did. Although we book bloggers would keep doing what we do, it is so nice (not to mention) refreshing that an author is willing to get engaged with book bloggers, support us, etc. Love it!
I really enjoyed this format for an author interview. Well done! I have both this author's books in my TBR stack and look forward to reading them soon. Thanks for this, Kristi!
I was also thinking how amazing it is that she is so thankful for bloggers…how different that was from the last autho interview you posted where it seemed there was a bit of contempt toward book bloggers. She is a great author and I appreciate you sharing her with us!
*whispers* I'll watch the vlog when I am not…at work… =) I'll be back! Just entered though!
Holly and I had been e-mailing about this same topic, I'm so glad we have such an amazing author on our side! : )
I haven't read any of Holly's books yet but I've been trying to get a copy of Playing Hurt. That was a great interview and it's super cool how she supports bloggers
I love that Holly is not anti blogger!
I loved having the interview in video format. It made it much more personal.
Thanks for the giveaway too!

Holly is awesome!!! She let bookgoonie be on her blog tour even though I had only about 300 hits. The book is great and I will be buying it for my shelf.
