I can't wait to read Vesper, The Running Dream, and Unearthly! Haven't started the Dark Divine series or the Hush, Hush series(forgot what the series was actually called). Sounds like you had a pretty good week!

    Happy Reading :)

Awesome books! I just finished Unearthly myself, I absolutely loved it. Can't wait for the sequel. You have a lot of good reading ahead of you it looks like. :)

I am totally with you on that books need to be in nice condition thing! Although I do buy books secondhand. But only if they're in like new condition. Hehe. :P Enjoy all your books! Vesper sounds really good. :)

Aah that damaged book would annoy me so much. I'm crazy with keeping my books in like new condition. Hope you enjoy your books this week!

I'm really picky about the condition of my books as well. It might be a little weird but when I'm buying a paperback, I inspect the binding and make sure no part of the cover is bent or torn. ;)

oh my god…Unearthly looks so incredibly gorgeous. I wanted it bad before…now I'm not sure what to do with myself!

As always, your IMM posts are amazing. Keep up the great work!

As someone who ran in high school and college I have got to pick up The Running Dream! It sounds really interesting.

Also, I'm planning to pick up Unearthly when I embark to my local bookstore for a signing this weekend, so it was good to see how gorgeous the cover actually is!

I got the Harry Potter book for Christmas. It's so amazing! There is SO much cool stuff from the movie! I ended up raving about it on Twitter because I was so excited. Definitely worth your money! :)

I got Shadowspell, too! Sad it was damaged. I'm exactly the same way. I don't like scratches or bent covers on my books. I inspect them like crazy before I buy them. LOL I try to be very careful when I read them, too. Happy reading :)

Awesome mailbox, as always! I really need to read those Ruby Oliver books, because I've heard good things about them as well.

I laughed a bit, I'm definitely a bit of a book snob too, but the cover of that shadowspell and quite a few others look gorgeous. I am also really curious about the running dream! interested to see your review in the future.

Great books you've got this week Kristi! The Running Dream sounds wonderful and I can't wait to read Unearthly. Oh by the way, I am absolutely obsessive about having my books in a good-as-new condition. I just cannot stand to see a book that has curled or bent pages – and let's not even start about coffee stains. I always make sure that my friends now that if they're going to borrow a book, I want it back in the same condition as I last saw it. :) Anyway, now that THAT tangent is out of the way, happy reading Kristi! :)

You are so not a snob for replacing damaged books! Or, if you are, you are not alone. I can't stand damaged books either. And that Shadowspell is pretty badly damaged! And also it's awesome!! I loved it. Great haul of books you got, as always. Happy reading :)

You always have the most amazing books in your IMM! I love the cover of Unearthly too, can't wait to buy it – and read it, duh!

About the damaged books – that would totally piss me off. I can't stand it when my books are damaged. I have some books here that I haven't even read, but just by flipping through the pages, the spine of the book got cracked like it has been read several times. Me no likey! So I completely understand that you want to buy a replacement for that – that's not snobby, that's caring about your hobby!

    Happy reading :)

The cover of Unearthly is so beautiful! Shiny!

Last time I got a damaged book I ironed each of the creased pages and it came out great. 0_0 Maybe not the best thing to do but it looked so much better afterwards.

I was glad to hear that you enjoyed Glimmerglass as that was one of the books I received this week. The cover is soo gorgeous. I just have to keep picking it up and touching it, over and over again :o )

Great mailbox! I also got Unearthly this week and The Lost Saint last week. I am excited to read both– especially Unearthly. I'm loving the sound of the Harry Potter Film book- very cool; I'm such a HP fan! Enjoy all your books!

You are not a book snob for wanting your books in good condition. I was sad the other day when a few of my books arrived in my mailbox damaged… I haven't posted them on my blog yet, but I know the damage was from the postman who shoved them into my tiny mailbox and the spines caught on somethings and it tore up the side of the spine causing a lovely gouge in the spine and many of hte pages a ruined. *sigh*

If you don't want that damaged copy of Shadowspell, you can send it to me. ;o) I don't care if my books are in pristine condition because I always share them with my students and they end up worn and dog-eared anyway.

You must read the Ruby Oliver series- they are very quick, funny, and awesome reads. DO IT. I command you!

You are definitely not alone in liking your books in good condition. I would probably do the same, go out and replace it eventually. I can understand why you are going to google docs.. mr. linky always seems to stop working when you need it to the most. I know there's another linky service called McLinky I think. Oh wait it's just called Linky Tools – http://www.linkytools.com/ .

I'll have to look for the HP book when I am next in a store. I think it would be amazing to have!

I am with you on the damaged/good condition books. I would have bought a new one, too!

I'm a book snob myself and hate getting them in bad condition. Sadly I've had it happen to me a couple of times.

If you want to restore the pages you need a water bottle mister and a iron. (The kind you iron clothes with.) All you need to do is lightly mist the damaged area and then on a low setting iron it. Use a hard surfase with a pillow case over it to iron onto. If you use an ironing board it's too soft and might damage the page.

The Running Dream sounds like it's going to be one of those thought-provoking reads. I'm going to check it out.

Bummer about the other book getting to you damaged. I'm the same way, I want my books in good condition too.

Wow… what a great bunch of books! I wish I had a job so I could afford to buy them all. LOL! And I am the same way about damaged books. The other day my son dropped my book in some Jello juice and I tried to wipe it away and just made the pages worse. It's so bugging me!

Here's another alternative to Mr. Linky that you might enjoy using:

    http://www.inlinkz.com/

As a reader and one who checks out the blogs listed in your IMM posts, I prefer a Mr. Linky-like format much more than Google Docs.

  66. A Backwards Story
    1/19/2011

I'm the same way with my books! I got "Warped" by Maurissa Guibord in the mail the other day and it had a little tear in it. I took it to BN to exchange today, but the store hasn't received copies yet. GRRR!!

Isn't "Unearthly" gorgeous? I doted on it in my review. Def. the best book of 2010 *so far*…and I wasn't expecting to like it much! I liked the ARC so much I went out and bought the gorgeous copy the very next day!

Do you often get manuscript-bound ARCs such as "The Girl in the Steel Corset?" That's pretty cool, actually! You can see how it's put together :)
