Books to Pine For (33)

Books to pine for... a collection of various Young Adult titles that have yet to be released. Books to pine for are found on my aimless wanderings on Amazon.com and Young Adult author websites. Almost all the titles mentioned are not in my possession, but oh... how I wish they were.

to pine (third-person singular simple present pines, present participle pining, simple past and past participle pined)

(intransitiveTo long, to yearn so much that it causes suffering. (yep that pretty much sums it up)

My original books to pine for post: Books to Pine For, has a wide range of titles, some have been released since its post date. Ihadn’t intended to make Books to Pine For a regular feature, but I continued to find books that caught my interest, thus, more posts where made: check out all the books to pine for posts!

So.... what to do you think about this layout... yay... or nay..... ?

Slayed by Amanda Marrone
I know nothing about this book, except obviously it is some sort of vampire novel! Don't know when it is coming out either... but the cover is HOT!

Blood Feud (The Drake Chronicles) by Alyxandra Harvery
This is book two in The Drake Chronicles series. This one is told from Logan and Isabeau's perspective, which I'm assuming is a new character, because I don't remember her from the first one. This one is hitting shelves June 2010 from Walker Books for Young Readers.

Siren by Tricia Rayburn
This one is described as a "seductive paranormal romance full of unexpected twists"... This one is hitting the shelves June 8, 2010 from Egmont USA.

The Mermaid's Mirror by L.K. Madigan
16 year old Lena sees something in the water... that appears to be the shiny tale of a beautiful woman! Um yes please. Out October 2010.

Endless Summer by Jennifer Echols
This is the sequel to The Boys Next Door! "Can this forbidden love stay afloat, or will it sink in the watery deep?" Sounds delicious.. need to read the first one. This one is hitting shelves May 25, 2010 from Simon & Schuster!

Zen and Xander Undone by Amy Kathleen Ryan
This is about two sisters and their last summer together.....and it sounds fabulous! And no I don't just want to read it because it has the name Xander in it although that is a nice incentive! Ha! Coming out May 3, 2010 from Houghton Mifflin.

The Demon's Covenant by Sarah Rees Brennan
Sequel to The Demon's Lexicon. Not so sure about these new covers... my favorite it the original UK Demon's Lexicon cover. I believe this one is Mae's novel, but not 100% sure. Hopefully we have ample amounts of Nick in it...! May 18, 2010 from Margaret K. McElderry.

The Replacement by Breanna Yovanoff
"Now the creatures under the hill want him back." Doesn't that sound freaky! Not to mention the cover... wowzers! Sounds like it is about a changeling of some sort. Could be interesting! Hitting shelves September 16, 2010 from Razorbill.

Forget You by Jennifer Echols
This is Jennifer's second "romantic drama" and if it's anything like Going Too Far, I will be one happy camper! And it sounds just as hot... Zoey had a little case of amnesia after a car accident and her hot arch-enemy is trying to help her figure out what happened that night. I should also mention that he's the one that saved her from the wreckage... swoon! Can't wait to get this one. July 20, 2010 from MTV Books.

Boys, Bears and a Serious Pair of Hiking Boots by Abby McDonald
"Can a boy-hungry Jersey girl survive the wilds of Canada with her eco-identity intact? A witty new YA novel from the author of SOPHOMORE SWITCH." This one sounds like a very cute read! April 13, 2010 from Candlewick.

Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly
"A seventeen-year-old girl is transported back in time to the French revolution and becomes caught up in a young actress’ attempt to help a tortured, imprisoned little boy who turns out to be Louis Charles, the lost king of France." Hitting the shelves September 28, 2010 from Delacorte.

Thief Eyes by Janni Lee Simner
"Janni Lee Simner brings the fierce romance and violent passions of Iceland's medieval sagas into this twenty-first-century novel, with spellbinding results." Oh la la sounds good! April 27, 2010 from Random House.

The Wide-Awake Princess by E.D. Baker
This is a a fairy tale type of novel. The main character Princess Annie is the younger sister of sleeping beauty! Love Sleeping Beauty! Can't wait to read this one! Coming April 27, 2010 from Bloomsbury.

Sphinx's Queen by Esther Freisner
The sequel to Sphinx's Princess! Coming from Random House, not sure when! Love the cover!

I like this layout b/c of the personal summaries you included! Please keep doing that if you can, it summarizes and tells me what to expect and whether I should pine for it as well :)

So many good ones this time! Ooh the cover for The Replacements is creepy! Looks like it belongs on the cover of a horror movie dvd.

Some great books here, I want to read Sphinx's Queen (once I read book 1, anyway), Revolution, and The Wide Awake Princess.

Wow that's some great books!

As for Blood Feud, I thought Isabeau was a new character too, then I re-read Hearts At Stake and discovered that Isabeau is the leader of The Hounds. They appeared during the "fight" in the end of the book, to help the Drake family...
After reading that, Blood Feud sounds even more awesome! :)

You are pining for some great books. The replacements cover freaks me out a bit. I am glad to know there is another book in the Drake Chronicles and so soon. Thanks for posting.

The Replacement's cover is seriously disturbing... but it does sound pretty cool. Great selection of books... I really don't know how you find them, I seem to only be able to discover great books after they've been out for years.

Thanks for sharing. :)

Wow, these all sound so good! Siren and The Mermaid's Mirror are definitely going on my TBR list. I'm also so excited for The Demon's Covenant, which IS Mae's book, although that's not her on the cover (it's Sin) XD

I cannot wait for Siren and The Mermaid's Mirror. I'm so excited for those.

Yes to the layout, and I loved reading your little blurbs. Goodreads links would help, but only because I now need to go add some of these to my to-read shelf. P:

As for Forget You by Jennifer Echols, I'm definitely going to have to check that out! And Siren looks GORGEOUS. Great picks, thanks! :)

Siren and Mermaid's Mirror look especially good! And I like the premise behind the Wide Awake Princess. Thanks for the list--now I must add them to my Goodreads list and to be read pile, which keeps on growing!

I like the layout you used and the information you provided. I just got an ARC of Boys, Bears.. from the Early Reviewer Program at LibraryThing. I'll be reading that one soon. Do you usually post the review when you finish reading an ARC or closer to when the book comes out? I seldom have ARCs and wonder what others prefer.

Thumbs up for this layout! I like seeing your comments on the books, and presenting them in pairs still looks pretty. :)
