In My Mailbox (60)

In My Mailbox explores the contents of my mailbox on a weekly basis. Of course I only mention the really cool things, like books! If you would like to participate and have your own “In My Mailbox” post, you can find more information here. (This post was inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie.)

People and Books mentioned in this vlog:

Explanation first and foremost.... I decided to use my webcam on the new laptop, so it looks a little different, but that's okay. I'm super tired.... I got up at 4:30 this morning to go shopping with my mom after I went to bed at 11.... not a good look for me! And here it is 1:40 and I still have yet to hit the hay. If i just stay up a few more hours I'll be up a whole 24 hours! For the record I am not planning on doing that. That being said, I screw up about a million times in this video as a result of my brain shutting off for the day. I can't say author names, I can't read book titles, I call authors debut authors when they are not.... um yeah... just don't listen to anything I say... OKAY!?

No I did not get any books for christmas, unless you count the ones I got from my Secret Santa.

Wow, that's an awesome amount of books you got there. And woo, Guardian of the Dead! That book's awesome.

Actually Hearts at Stake isn't by a debut author. Alyxandra Harvey wrote another novel called Broken (not good, not at all. I reviewed it and generously gave it 2.5 stars), but it was published under what I assume was her married name Alyxandra Harvey-Fitzhenry. She's written like 3 books before Hearts at Stake.

Looks like you got some great books and you do seem very tired. I've had those days. I hope you did eventually get some sleep!

Looks like we only have one book in common this week.

I hope you had a great holiday!

Xander! He's so snuffly. *snuffles* His head is huge and that makes me giggle.

I am so happy you're finally getting to read The 13 Treasures. I think that's my #2 book of 2009. It's on my top reads of 2009 anyhow. Michelle Harrison is a fantastic woman and you should follow her on Twitter. ;)

The Lauren Willig series is FUN. I loved The Secret History of the Pink Carnation (read it years ago) and I have been waiting for the Night Jasmine to come out in pb which is now. I would highly recommend this entire series. It's funny and half present day half Victorian times (not time travel, PhD research).

I have read one of Patrick Carman's MG series - Atherton trilogy and he's a great writer. All about dystopia that one.

Great week for your 60th (!!!) IMM!

(And I hope you like the Gena Showalter book better than I did!)

You got some Great books!

Samantha..... that's weird. The novel is being marketed as a debut novel from the publisher. It even has a debut discovery label on the book itself?

Kristi, you had an AMAZING week--lucky you! I am super jealous of the 2nd Demon Princess book. I love the new cover art, and I was a big fan of the 1st. And Sisters Red? I can't wait for that one! Enjoy! (:

Holy Cow! What a pile of books! I really want some of those. Personally I got Living Outside the Lines by Lesley Choyce, a book that is not going USA until 2010. I have not found a whole lot about it either.

Whoa, tons of book this week, including a very-much-coveted-by-me Will Grayson, Will Grayson :p I can't wait for a review :)

And your meme is so amazing, over 100 participants, congrats!

Kristi, that is weird. She dropped the Fitzhenry from her name, that's it. But she's written 3 books: Waking in 2006, Broken in 2008, and B&N is crediting her with a kids book called Angels Inc that also came out in 2008. In my personal opinion I don't think that makes her a debut...and Hearts at Stake came out last week, I wouldn't think that would qualify her as a 2010 author either. *scratches head* I so confused! lol. (And I'm not meaning to make it sound like I'm trying to argue or anything, it just confuses me)

Author Gayle Forman (IF I STAY) had great things to say about Will Grayson, Will Grayson.

Those Razor Bill ARCs are neat!

I hate you...

No not really... :/
I'm (specially) dying to read Fallen, Firespell and Hearts at Stake.

Anyway! Happy reading! Looking forward to the reviews.
