Sign Up for the 2010 Debut Author Challenge

Wednesday, November 25, 2009
ARE YOU READY TO TAKE ON THE 2010 DEBUT AUTHOR CHALLENGE?

If you'd like to participate in the 2010 Debut Author Challenge, please feel free to sign up using the Mister Linky below.

Please read and follow the directions!

If you are interested in learning more about the challenge itself you can check out the 2010 Debut Author Challenge Information post.

Before you sign the Mister Linky you will need to make a post that will contain the list of books you will be reading for the challenge. You do not have to have the list completed. You just need to have a post where the potential list will be posted. Please be sure to mention that others can sign up to participate in the challenge here. If you are listing your books in the sidebar of you blog, please do a post stating that you are participating in the challenge, and direct them to your sidebar to see the list of your books. If you do not put a direct link to your post, I will delete it.

Feel free to sign the Mister Linky with your name and blog name. For example, I would input Kristi (The Story Siren). Of if you prefer just input your blog name. If you are not a blogger, use your name only. In the URL section, please input http://www.thestorysiren.com  (This way I know you are a participant that does not have a blog.)

So, when you sign the Mister Linky... you need to put your name, which can be your name, your blog name or both. And a DIRECT link to your challenge post. Do not put in your blog URL.

Thanks for participating in the challenge!

Looking forward to this! Hopefully the books won't take too long to be released in Australia.

By the way, I don't have a blog so I have no idea if I've followed the procedures correctly!

yes Elaine you did! I'm so excited to see a non blogger joining the challenge! Not that I don't love bloggers, because I do! But it's so great to have you!

This is an awesome challenge! As a librarian (and lover of books) I appreciate anything that gets people reading. . .especially first time authors and new books. Can't wait to get atarted.

Like Elaine, I'm not a blogger, so I hope I have done everything correctly.

I hope I did the whole thing right. I used the link for my LJ blog (authorwithin), but I'll also be posting on my Blogger blog. Will I need to do another Mister Linky for that?
just Joan said...
I went ahead and did a Linky for my blogger blog too so if you don't want both, delete one (your choice . . . I'm 99 and 100).

This is going to be fun!

I'm so excited about joining! I can't wait to get started! I had a question I hope someone can answer for me.

I have a blog but its specifically for a gluten free diet. So when I signed up I did not use that as my url because I won't be posting anything about this challenge on there.

I used the url from this site, which it said you could do. But where do I post a list of the books I'm going to read this year? If anyone can answer that for me I'd appreciate it!
prissycrissy24 said...
I am really excited about this challenge! Its perfect for me! I can't wait to see what other people read and what they think about the books!

Just had a question and was wondering if anyone could answer it for me.

I'm a bit confused as to the rules. So I understand that only books published in 2010 count. I'm also assuming since its a YA debut author challenge only an authors FIRST Ya book, published in 2010 count! For instance, a meg cabot YA book published in 2010 doesn't count. As she already has several YA books out. Correct?
prissycrissy24 said...
sorry I got confused when I was signing up. I accidently did it twice! lol Can you delete #326 please!

I was also wondering how the rules work. Obviously we can only count books that are published in 2010. And I'm assuming since its a YA DEBUT AUTHOR challenge, that means only YA books, written by a first time author , in the YA category anywyas, count. For instance, a meg cabot YA book released in 2010 would not count as meg cabot has many previous books in the ya category and she wouldn't be considered a debut author. Correct?
