For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She’s never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment.

But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora’s not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can’t decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.

For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen – and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.

Three words; hot, mysterious, heavenly

Hush, Hush is one of those addicting reads. There is something about it, you can’t quite place your finger on it, but all you know is that you need more, right now!

Most surprising for me was liking Nora. Usually I can’t stand her type of character. But for some reason she reminded me of my sister! Completely book smart, but doesn’t have the common sense that god gave a goose. (Yes, Lace, I’m talking about you!) Patch on the other hand, where do I even start. You’ll either love him, hate him, or hate him so much you love him. He’s the epitome of the “bad boy”…. hot, dark, mysterious and cocky as hell. Characterization was awesome. I love when I have such strong emotions toward characters, it’s a compliment to the authors ability to make such a three dimensional character, and Fitzpatrick is right on!

The plot was insane, twist upon twist, up until the final pages. I could not put down. The pages inside are just as hot as the cover. Loved the history and explanation of the lore as well. The plot was just really well executed.

The writing itself was fantastic as well. Fitzpatrick has a distinct story telling ability. It seems she’s able to tell the story effortlessly and all the while keeping the readers interest profoundly intact.

I can’t wait to read the next installment in this series!

Wow! What a positive review! I've read quite a few negative reviews, so I was starting to have my doubts, even though the plot really interested me. I may just have to check it out…Thanks!

  • Just Your Typical Book Blog

Great review! I also really loved this book and found it hard to put down. I can see why a lot of readers didn't like and Patch didn't appeal to them at all, but I ate it (and him) with a spoon!

  • kay - Infinite Shelf

Great review! It sounds like a must read!

  • tinkandalissa

Just bought this one the other day. I've seen a few negative reviews (mostly regarding the books ending), but I am happy to see that you loved it. I'm excited to read it despite the other reviews.

I recently won an ARC of Hush, Hush and can't wait til it comes in the mail!! :-D

Awesome review, it sounds a bit like Twilight though, in that it's addictive and the girl doesn't seem to have common sense. I hope when I read it I don't wind up disliking it as vehemently as I disliked Twilight LOL

I've been looking forward to Hush, Hush like nobody's business. But then I read The Book Smugglers' review, and my enthusiasm started to deflate. I hope I can find something to like about it! Great review!

Hi! I have this one coming! I'm glad you liked it, I'm hoping I will, too! Good review.

I'm a little late in the day with my Monday stuff, but without further ado, here are my answers!

    Have a great reading week!

    Wonderful review, Kristi!

I love the cover on this one, and the story sounds amazing.

I've started reading some of it from PulseIT, where they have the E-Book up for members to read, but I really hate reading a book online, so I'm going to have to buy it from the store later this month!

But even just a few pages in, and I'm already hooked… I may just finish it online and then buy my own keeper copy! :D

    Enjoy,
    TBQ

This is probably the first one we don't agree. I was not impressed at all! I felt it keeps you the whole book waiting. Like you have no idea whats going on until almost the end.. And the cover tells you what he is so no mystery there. Plus I couldn't like Patch cause I was scared of him! Nice review tho!
I'm glad we do disagree sometimes! LOL!

  • Jessica Kennedy

I didn't love this one as much as you but I finished it and didn't hate it completely.

I'll probably read the follow up as well. :)

I think your 3 words sum up the book perfectly. I absolutely loved this book. I am on the edge of my seat for the next one. I loved the character development in this book – and I love that the main guy is a questionable good guy. Not your typical Angel.

I am currently reading HUSH HUSH after seeing it as one of the recommended books in a bookstore i frequent. Although it started out much like Twilight and some of the other high school set books for young adults (somebody newly transfered or someone new in a class that turns out to be mysterious etc etc.), i began to feel taken by the story as soon as I got down into the tension and the questions that begin to pile one on top of the other. Its creepy, weird, and totally fantastic. I might do my own review as soon as I get to the ending and reading your review has only made me more excited to get to the end…. :)
