ALA Vlog

Friday, July 17, 2009
Disclaimer: Be warned, I filmed this soon after I got up this morning. I'm still in my pj pants and I just threw my hair into a pony. I didn't even put on a fresh coat of deodorant so I may smell too. Also, please excuse my lame attempt to do a humorous introduction, I really am that big of a nerd.

(I have tried uploading this on blogger twice, which has failed. Actually it didn't fail but it had taken over 10 hours the first time without a complete upload and over 20 hours the second time and it still hadn't uploaded. I also tried to upload on youtube and split it into two parts.... it failed the first time. But alas, the universe does not hate me today!

Glad you were able to finally get it up! Blogger can be evil like that sometimes.

Anyways... I'm very jealous that you got ARCs of The Dark Divine, Shiver, and Scones and Sensibility! :)

Will have to check this out after work. One bad thing about vlogs is it's harder to sneak a peak while at work :) Glad you got it working though!

BTW, are those your home bookshelves? They look great!

The introduction was totally cute! Yay! The Sweetheart of Prosper County totally has a ARC cover like Eyes Like Stars, I'm loving that type cover for some reason!

Very nice! Your bookshelves practically mirror my own. Glad I found your blog.

Same thing happened to me with Blogger, and I ended up doing the same thing as you.
Don't worry, you looked cute in that intro :o)
Enjoy your books!

Have fun reading them! Can't wait for your review.

I want to hate you because of all the great books you have that I don't, but you're just so darn cute and happy. I can't hate that. Could you work on maybe being a little more evil? Like maybe developing a raspy voice or you could even get an eye patch- the epitome of evil.

And maybe I'm really tired, but I thought the beginning was funny!

It's great that you had a wonderful time. Maybe one day we'll be able to join you.

Your video wasn't bad at all. What were you eating? A pecan roll or cinnamon bun? It looks familiar.

I want something sweet now.

Cinnamon Raisin Bread. It looks good, but I do not like raisins.

You have quite a haul there.

How fast do you read?

Thanks for saying all those nice things about Egmont! You didn't even get one of my favorite books on the fall list, which is Food, Girls, and other Things I Can't Have by Allen Zadoff. Hmm....that author lives in LA and is a theater writer and director. Maybe we should work on making him high profile on the blogosphere.

It was great to meet you at the booth during Julia Keller's signing. I enjoy your blog, and I REALLY hope that you like some of our books. (And I loved Shiver, by the way. Hot.)

Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you with this vlog! (I'm going to midwinter and, while I hear it's not as big nor are there as many vendors, I'm excited.)

Fantastic haul! Oh, and I loved hearing Little Big Town playing in the background! :)

I'm so jealous that you have Scones & Sensibility and Hush Hush. I am dying for those books! xD I went to look at the fallen website and now I've got a new book to daydream about!

you know, for someone who woke up, you look very fresh faced. Hah! And cinnamon bread=the yum. have you ever spread butter on cinnamon bread? THAT is heaven. ♥

Oh what a cute way to post. Did you have to pay for all the books you got signed?

Love the vlog! I'm totally jealous of you right now. :)

(Ditto Chelle, by the way -- I <3'd the Little Big Town in the background.)

Oh, what a nice vlog! One question: how the heck did you carry all those books around after you bought them/got them signed? I've never been to an ALA book convention thing before, sounds like loads of fun (really really bad for people like me who go on massive shopping sprees when it comes to books)

And she has a blog, too if I understood well... :)
