As you can see my IMM post for this week is a little different. I joined up with the “cool kids” and did a vlog. Just so you know, before you start watching, I’m a bit of a nerd on camera, and I just realized I look kinda funny when I talk. I had a little mishap during my recording session… but I tried to fix it, so sorry about that. And I’m even more sorry that I say… UM and actually about a million times! And yes, I have my Chicago Cubs shirt on, they had a game today (which would have been Saturday, which was yesterday, when I recorded this), so I had to represent.

My personal feeling on vlogs (aside from hating the name) is that I don’t always have the time to sit there and watch it all. So I happen to appreciate the little write up underneath so that I can see what’s being talked about.
I do also miss the pretty pictures of covers.
But I am looking forward to seeing you speak about books once it’s all uploaded!
Do a contest for Gentlemen. I really want that one! I loved Spanking Shakespeare – cant put in my lib though – and looking forward to Castration Celebration. Good haul! I do miss the covers but vlogs mean I cant read as many blogs because of limited time!

I read “Cathy’s Book” which I really enjoyed and also reviewed on my blog. I really liked it and “Cathy’s Key” is in my TBR pile.
If you didn’t know this then you’ll know now that this series is the first of it’s kind. I don’t know if there is another book out there where you can call the phone numbers in the book and get a response. Or if you actually visit the websites they talk about in the book.
I think you’ll enjoy this series. Happy Easter!

Yay for Lady Gaga! And you did a WONDERFUL job for your first vlog- definitely do more! I also love your bookcase; it looks so awesome! I need one like that. Also, way jealous of As You Wish- I heard from Jackson that they ran out of ARCs already but I’m on the list for a finished copy.
That’s cool you have a remote. I hate having to be all like “LOOK AT MY FACE!!” (or maybe chest depending on how I decide to hit the button) at the end. But I’m getting better at it (sitting closer helps) so that I’m not taking over the screen so much, lol.
Oh, and I totally understand the um/actually thing. I notice that I sometimes say the same word a lot in a vlog. At least you don’t have long pauses like I do. And you managed to stay well under 10 minutes, which is hard for me to do sometimes, lol. But anyway, you’ll get better at speaking and all that in front of the camera the more you do.

I do the page flipping thing too. I’m not sure why. I went to a booksale today and kept flipping through the pages of every book I touched. Maybe it’s because when I was little I saw some show where all the guy did was flip through the pages like that and he’d read the book. I’ve always wanted to be able to do the same!
I also forgot to mention that I like to flip through books too. I do it ALL THE TIME in the bookstore and in my vlogs. I don’t know- it just feels good to flip those pages, lol.
